Tong Tong Fair considering postponement until 3 to 13 September, 2020

The global measures taken to stop the Corona virus (COVID-19) are also affecting the events industry. The organising committee of the Tong Tong Fair is considering the possibility of postponing the 62nd edition until the period of September 3 – 13, 2020.

Given the size of the Tong Tong Fair, which houses a very international group of participants, this is a complex measure. Hundreds of exhibitors (food, non-food), musicians, theatre makers, writers and scholars from home and abroad participate in this annual event.

Theatre programme

The Tong Tong Fair has several theatres with a continuous programme consisting of music, dance, cooking demonstrations, lectures, debates, etc. Almost 400 people participate in these presentations. Almost everyone tries to be there in September. Participating artists are happy that the Tong Tong Fair strives to postpone rather than cancel.

International fair

On the Grand Pasar and in the Indonesia Pavilion of the Tong Tong Fair there are about 160 exhibitors, many from Southeast Asia. Most of them have indicated they will participate in September.

Pre-bought tickets

It remains uncertain how the Corona virus will develop. The organisation of the Tong Tong Fair continues to hope for a good outcome. Tickets that have already been purchased, will remain valid for the 62nd Tong Tong Fair.

The organisation hopes to welcome all participants and visitors in September 2020. The 62nd Tong Tong Fair was originally planned for 28 May to 7 June 2020.
